the blazek family | dallas texas lifestyle session
another pit stop of our summer road trip. we had a wondrous time exploring the natural beauty of monument valley...red rocks, red mounts and cool summer air were all part of the adventure. we found rocks decorating the dust covered paths and were entertained by the steady flow of foot traffic also soaking in the expansive views of monument valley.
it was in this leg of our journey that we really began feeling bogged down by the long car ride and confined space. it had seemed on our trip between albuquerque, nm and monument valley ut that the walls of our little van were shrinking. every hour in this shrinking little van the air became less and less, fights were erupting between our girls, it was enough to pull our hair out. we were so ready to get to a hotel and relax, we were ready to decompress. by this time in our journey we had ventured over 1000 miles in two days. yes, the sites were amazing and our time together was unlike any other, but nonetheless, we needed air to breathe. it was at this point in our stop that we could decompress, we could explore and re-kindle that "family feel". after arriving at the valley, the girls had a sense of renewed friendship and renewed sisterhood. they jumped out of the van ready. they jumped out of the van happy.
it's this time of year that we are traversing through the extensive number of photos that have graced our hard drive. we have so many images to go through... so many fond memories to remember and re-imagine... a video that looms, awaiting its completion. today it is the sand dunes. today it is alamogordo 's white sand dunes to be more specific.
this is the image that shows what we find most important about our visit.... exploration. this is the word that describes this image and our trip to the national white sands in NM. the soft feel of the sand, the vast views of the horizon and the warm embrace of the sun. an epic display of the creativity that can be found when one is willing to look.
we were merely observers in this child's experience of the dunes. to her, the sand was a giant play box awaiting her discovery. we would not have been surprised if she had come across some lost relic or buried treasure. this little dallas-ite took to the sands like the grains themselves to the wind.
it's no surprise to us that this one was not very enthused by granules of sand that made their way in between her toes and laced in with her wispy hair. for us this adventure for her was about new environments and cheeky grins, both of which we obtained.
our summer video will be slugging its way along soon...
we had the privilege of meeting and photographing this beautiful mother and son last month. sun's little guy jaesun was the cutest little boy i've ever seen. he was the perfect combination of handsome and shy and sweet. this is one of our favorite locations to shoot at and the weather turned out perfect! we are currently booking into next year, so if you're considering some family photos - don't wait too long! shoot us an email (firstname.lastname@example.org). :)
This is our life.
We tell love stories.
